Fred Beans Automotive Group bought the former Bergey's Tire and auto repair site at 857 N. Easton Road outside Doylestown, a 1.8 acre parcel Bergey's had owned since 1979. Colliers brokered the deal, with senior vice president Rich Weitzman representing both sides. Price wasn't disclosed. Fred Beans plans a roughly 20,000 square foot Ford truck center on the site, built for commercial fleet vehicles that need larger service bays, targeting a late 2027 opening.
Auto groups buying real estate outright instead of leasing are a different kind of owner to track. They hold land for decades, Bergey's sat on this parcel for 46 years, and they expand by acquiring competitors' and neighbors' sites rather than shopping the open market. Fred Beans runs more than 30 locations across Pennsylvania and New Jersey and already operates other sites along Easton Road, so this is a company consolidating a corridor it already knows.
Bucks County's Route 611 and Easton Road auto row is worth watching for exactly this reason. Dealership groups moving on aging single use sites, old tire shops, service stations, gas stations, are land banking a corridor before anyone lists it. If you own an aging automotive property near an established dealer group's other locations, that operator may be a buyer before the listing ever goes public.
